Royals who have tattoos
Tattoos aren't the first image that springs to mind when one thinks of royalty, but there are some royals out there who've dabbled with ink.
Claudio Traina, celebrity tattooist and founder of Sixty Ink, told Hello magazine that smaller tattoos are likely more popular among royals because they are easier to conceal.
"I imagine it's probably still not easy for them to have tattoos in visible areas, and in my opinion, this is because in certain groups of society, tattoos are still not fully accepted," she said.

Princess Eugenie
Though it is not common for members of the British royal family to have tattoos, Eugenie managed to skate her way through with a tiny tattoo that many missed.
It was only visible when she had her hair pinned back during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for her grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Behind her ear, fans could see a tiny circle tattoo. Though she has never commented on it, some believe it could have been a tribute to her grandmother, since circles are a prominent symbol of the Platinum Jubilee.
Other meanings of a circle tattoo behind the ear could be in reference to the cycle of life and death.

"I imagine it's probably still not easy for them to have tattoos in visible areas, and in my opinion, this is because in certain groups of society, tattoos are still not fully accepted," she said.
Eugenie is by far the only member of the British royal family to get tatted, with the practice going back centuries.
Lady Amelia Windsor
Lady Amelia Windsor must have taken note of this tidbit when she got herself inked over a century after her ancestors.
The royal, who is the granddaughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, who in turn is the first cousin to the late Queen Elizabeth II, showed off her ink when she first got it four years ago.
The model and socialite took to Instagram to share an artistic snap featuring the new motif.
"Tiger's always got my back," she wrote of the animal walking along her left shoulder blade.
This isn't the only animal-themed design Lady Amelia, who is 39th in the British line of succession, has inked on her body.
She also has a tattoo on her wrist of a trio of bear cubs, the significance of which she explained to Elle magazine in 2018.
"[They] represent my brother, sister and I because we saw three cubs in Canada when we were really little and thought they were us on the beach," she said.
Lady Amelia has a second tattoo on the same wrist, along with a pair of wings on her ribcage.
"I'd always like another tattoo, but you should only get a tattoo if you're really sure about it," she said.
Princess Stephanie of Monaco
Princess Stephanie of Monaco has passed on her own love of tattoos to the next generation!
The royal famously has a wrist tattoo that looks like a bracelet with a flower in the middle, which may have inspired her daughter, Pauline Ducruet, to get her own wrist tattoo in the form of a daisy.
She also has a snake-like motif on her shoulder blade.
King Frederik X
King Frederik is also known to have tattoos, with one displayed prominently on his right calf.
Though it is rarely seen, the King has an image of a shark on his leg.
The animal represents his time in the Danish navy, though it is not the only tattoo of his that does so.
He also has a tattoo on his right bicep which refers to his nickname Pingu, which he got after completing rigorous training to become a badged Frogman.
He is not the only Danish King to be tatted, with his namesake grandfather King Frederik IX sporting tattoos of dragons and birds on his torso, also believed to be a tribute to his time in the Navy.
Princess Sofia of Sweden
Princess Sophia of Sweden was so proud of her body art that she even chose to display it on her wedding day!
When marrying her husband, Prince Carl Philip, in 2015, she selected a wedding gown that showed off the star motif on her back.
