This picture of the Royal Family wearing Christmas jumpers is pure genius

We’ve often wondered how Queen Elizabeth and family celebrate Christmas out of the public eye, but guessing just got much easier, thanks to a genius marketing ploy from Madame Tussauds London.

The home of waxworks have just unveiled a special version of Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry’s wax figures. Each character has been given a festive makeover featuring a – rather gaudy – Christmas jumper. Even the corgis have been included!

Her Majesty is displaying one of her beloved dogs in a crown, while joker Prince Harry was given a penguin, and Camilla and Charles a Santa and Elf jumper, respectively. Our favourite part, though? Catherine and William’s seriously impressive joint sweater, which is all kinds of tacky perfection.

The updated figures aren’t just a clever way to get more visitors though – Madame Tussauds has teamed up with Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day campaign, to inspire others to wear something festive for charity on December 16.

Of course, you’ll have to make a trip to London if you want to see the waxworks up close. But we can’t help but think it would almost be worth it, for the best Facebook profile that ever existed…
