Proposal slammed as 'OTT' was perfect, claims bride

The sun is setting across California, the man of your dreams is getting down on one knee and you’re about to start the rest of your life – what could make the moment better?

According to this couple; rose petals, acapella Disney songs and 16 dogs.

Maurice Goldstein, 31, proposed to long-time love Laura Stampler, 30, in the sprawling Runyon Canyon Park in Los Angeles, leading Stampler on a hike up the peak where he had everything waiting.

Goldstein roped one of Stampler’s closest friends, who also happens to be a professional photographer, into photographing and filming the proposal.

The sweet video shows the couple approaching up a hill, Stampler seeming to catch onto what was happening when she spotted the pink and red rose petals scattered on the path.

Further up a group of friends performed her favourite Disney songs acapella while she starts to cry with joy.

They come to the edge of the hill and as the sun sets Goldstein gets on one knee and pops the big question.

Then come the dogs.

The 16 adorable pups of all breeds and sizes bound towards the newly engaged couple, Stampler clearly not sure whether to laugh or cry.

“In case anyone wanted to see me literally sob while I attempt to hug every dog,” she captioned the adorable video on her Facebook.

The 30-year-old adores dogs, having written a book, Little Black Dresses, Little White Lies, that involve all manners of “weird dog related events” she told Elite Daily.

But some of the couple’s friends worried the whole proposal was just a bit too much.

“Although some wondered if there were too many elements during the proposal (acapella, hike, rose petals, loose dogs?) Maurice executed it perfectly,” Stampler said.

“It was all incredibly meaningful and then we celebrated with both of our families at a restaurant after.”

But where on earth did Goldstein get 16 dogs?

It turns out his family’s German Shepherd often runs with a group of dogs off-leash in the area, lead by pal Tony Vercillio.

So Goldstein simply asked Vercillio to round up a bunch of pups for the proposal.

And their romance is just as sweet.

Stampler and Goldstein met in summer of 2011 and kept bumping into each other, but were both in other relationships at the time.

But in 2014 they reconnected over a dating app, went on a date and as you can see, the rest is history.
