Princess Eugenie has made her social media debut by joining Instagram.

The young royal launched her personal (and verified) account on International Women's Day sharing a video as her first post - part of the inspirational WE Day speech, she made with older sister Princess Beatrice.

In the short video Princess Eugenie paid tribute to her sister, 29, for helping her stay positive when battling scoliosis and how happy she is to help others do the same.

While the clip has had almost 14,000 views, the low-key launch of her profile meant the bride-to-be notched up just over 9,400 followers in her first 24 hours. Dad - Prince Andrew, The Duke of York - helped by giving her a welcome on his page, which has 17,200 followers.

The 27-year-old promises to use the platform to share causes she's passionate about, suggesting the eighth-in-line to the throne is getting stuck into some charity work.

Indeed, on Thursday, both daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York spoke at a WE Day event celebrating young people making a difference in their communities.

“We stand here to support not just each other, but all women. Women are working together to impact great change,” they told the audience at London's Wembley Arena.

Beatrice and Eugenie then imparted the three pieces of advice that had taught them to “be strong” and value other people.

The first was to “never give up”.

"No matter what obstacles are put in your way, whether it's a life changing operation or a small bump in the road remember, you can all do it,” the sisters said.

“Find that tiny flame inside of you that makes you shine brighter than you feel, that gives you the belief that you can change the world.”

"As my big sister, you inspire me. I love that, as a team, we work hard to support each other,” she said.

"Together we have laughed, together we have cried. Ultimately though, together we fuelled each other's sense of humour when stones are being thrown.”

The siblings were joined on the stage by a close friend of Beatrice’s, Virgin heiress Holly Branson.
