Prince William and Prince Harry are 'not close' to stepmum Camilla Parker-Bowles

When Prince Charles becomes King, his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles will not be his Queen, but Princess Consort.

Before the 2005 wedding of her and Charles, Clarence House indicated that Camilla had no desire to take the title. The official wedding announcement said: “It is intended that Mrs Parker Bowles should use the title HRH the Princess Consort when the Prince of Wales accedes to the throne.”

Camilla’s popularity has improved since her marriage to Charles, thanks to a greater understanding of the marriage troubles between Charles and Princess Diana - and Camilla’s ability to do the classic “keep calm and carry on”. However, until Charles takes the throne, it’s unclear how the public will react to her potential role as Queen.

Prince William and Prince Harry have not commented on these rumours, and almost certainly never will - although if to be believed, it could be a tense family Christmas.
