Prince George is in the same class as his cousin

George wasn’t the only royal who started school yesterday.

The four-year-old prince was joined by his distant cousin, Maud Windsor, who is also enrolled at Thomas’s Battersea.

The pair are reportedly in the same class at the elite south London prep school.

Maud, 4, is the eldest child of Lord Frederick Windsor, who is the son of the Queen’s cousin, Prince Michael of Kent.

Lord Frederik was seen taking Maud to school and, looking much more bold than her cousin, she strode confidently into the school gates.

She was dressed in the navy uniform, sporting a red velvet ribbon in her red curly hair.

The two youngsters reportedly had an easy start to schooling life, spending only half a day getting to know the teachers and other students in their class.

Principal Ben Thomas told the Daily Mail it was a “very gentle introduction to the school”.

They would eventually start full days and proper lessons, he said, adding, “the emphasis is on making sure they feel safe, feel secure and they feel happy”.

The Duke of Cambridge sayid Prince George's first day at school went smoothly after he was forced to manage parenting duties alone.

The Duchess of Cambridge had hoped to join Prince William on the school run but was suffering from severe morning sickness and was too ill to attend, Kensington Palace said.

But William said the day "went well" and joked that he was pleased another parent had problems with their children rather than him.
