Kate Kendall confirms early arrival of baby girl with Andrew Johns

Rugby league legend Andrew Johns became a father for the third time on Friday, with the news his partner Kate Kendall had given birth to a daughter named Alice.

At the time of the birth, details were scarce, except that the newborn weighed a teeny-tiny three kilograms, Nine’s Wide World of Sports reported.

Now, Kendall has revealed Alice, her first child, was born premature.

"This tiny human busted out and joined us a tad earlier than expected & I can’t wait to introduce you to her,” the yoga aficionado and Flow Athletic founder wrote on Instagram.

"In the meantime we’re taking some time to snuggle her close & slowly introduce to her to this big beautiful world."

Kendall went on to detail her pregnancy journey, revealing she found the experience to be quite enjoyable.

"I hope you feel as much ease from this as I did during pregnancy," she wrote to her 38,600 followers, adding, "and if you don’t have a ‘bun’, they also make great chill postures. Big love, KK x #BeAWellBeing#KateKendallYoga #Prenatalyoga".

It’s no surprise that the new mother turned to the mediative practice to combat pain during her pregnancy.

Kendall is one Sydney’s most experienced and high-profile yoga instructors. Her clientele at her Paddington-based fitness studio includes Roxy Jacenko, Willie Mason and George Burgess.

She also teaches yoga courses online through her Active Yogi website and hosts a weekly podcast titled ‘The Space Between’.

"I have a tendency to hustle, push and over-exert. At the moment I'm pregnant so actually my training and yoga practice have softened and it's way more about taking care of myself and my baby," Kendall

“It's teaching me a lot and it's really agreeing with me. This is just a part of my life and I know once I've given myself plenty of recovery/baby time, I'll be tackling something new.”

Alice is the first daughter born to Johns, who shares a son Louis with his ex-wife Catherine Mahoney, and another son, Samuel, born to his first wife Renae Chapman.
