Police share Christmas shopping safety tip
Police in the US have issued a safety warning for Christmas shoppers, asking them to beware of bag snatchers this festive season and providing a totally genius hack for keeping your handbag safe.
The Windham police department in New Hampshire posted on Facebook that women using a shopping trolley should “keep your purse (handbag) zipped or closed and secure it to the cart by clipping the child safety belt through the strap(s). This will help in preventing someone from taking advantage of your distraction and running off.”

For those shops that don’t have a child safety belt, here comes the genius bit - they suggest buying a carabiner clip from a hardware store and keeping it attached to you bag. “Simply clip the carabiner to the trolley” they say, “and your bag is more secure!”
