Photograph captures incredible ‘pathway up to heaven’ from car crash

While stuck in traffic, Anisa Gannon took a picture of the car accident ahead of her to send to her boss. She was worried he wouldn’t believe her excuse for being late, but the photograph she took ended up serving a much more powerful purpose.

As reported by PEOPLE, Gannon was showing her aunt, Tara Noble, the picture later that day when they noticed the incredible beam of light which seemed to connect from the crash to the sky.

“She said, ‘Anisa, it looks like a pathway up to heaven,’ ” said Gannon.

The accident Gannon had photographed tragically claimed three lives – Hannah Simmons, 23, and her nine-month-old daughter A’lannah perished, as did Lauren Beteau, 28, who was also in the car.

Noble took it upon herself to track down the grieving family and show them the image, hoping to provide them with some comfort.

PEOPLE reported that Hannah’s mum, Judy Simmons, said the photograph confirmed that her daughter and granddaughter were in heaven.

“I just needed something to show me that they were in Heaven and that they were OK. And that was my confirmation,” said Simmons to PEOPLE.

Lauren Beteau’s mum Dana Cantrell said the peace it provided her was “indescribable”.

Gannon said that although she believes the beam of light to be the glare from her car window, she is happy she was able to provide two struggling families with some comfort in such a hard time.

“It still looks like a pathway to heaven. I didn’t mean to do it, but it makes me feel good that just the little things can help somebody tremendously,” she said.
