Woman invites Obamas to her wedding, and they reply in the most beautiful way

Barack and Michelle Obama have given one bride-to-be their personal blessing after she invited them to her wedding.

Liz Whitlow wanted the former American president and his wife to be her VIP guests at her upcoming nuptials next month.

So she posted a 'save the date' to the pair in March, and returned home this week to find a very special envelope on her door mat.

Inside was a special message from the Obamas which her daughter, Brooke quickly tweeted a photo with this caption (all in capital letters, no doubt because of her excitement): "MY MOM DEADASS SENT THE OBAMAS A WEDDING INVITATION BACK IN MARCH AND JUST RECEIVED THIS IN THE MAIL. IM HOLLERING."

See, the Obamas are busy people. They've got books to write, exotic holidays to go on and a whole new casual wardrobe for Barack to buy now he's not stepping out in suits everyday.

But, instead of sending a generic 'sorry we can't make it' card — or, indeed, ignoring Liz's invitation entirely — they penned a special little note that will serve as a life-long keepsake for her big day.

"Congratulations on your wedding", they wrote on their signature stationary.

"We hope that your marriage is blessed with love, laughter, and happiness and that your bond grows stronger with each passing year. This occasion marks the beginning of a lifelong partnership, and as you embark on this journey, know you have our very best for the many joys and adventures that lie ahead."

Too cute.

Brooke's tweet has been retweeted more than 45,000 times since Monday, with other users sharing their sweet stories of correspondence with the Obamas.

She's since shared pictures of a text conversation with her mum, too.

"I didn't send one to Trump", her mum writes.
