Shortly after tying the knot, this bride and groom headed to Bunnings for a couple of snags and cans of coke.

And guys, it doesn’t get much more Aussie than that.

Newlyweds Jordan and Chantelle Wilson were married last weekend on Sydney’s northern beaches. After the couple said I do and a few "shoeys" on Newport wharf, they rallied their oblivious guests and took them to the Belrose Bunnings carpark for a few sangers.

Jordan tells 9Honey his bride was "a bit apprehensive" about his choice of cuisine but "gave in".

"I said it would be hilarious and something we will never forget," he says.

The best part, he adds, was the look on his guests' faces and the photos taken by Bunnings staff.

Bunnings staff, who had "absolutely no idea", were clearly amused by the wedding entourage, snapping photos and painting the bride’s and groom’s faces.

One staff member even came out with a gift for the happy couple, surprising them with a carpet cleaner.

"We were stoked," Jordan says. "We dont have very much money and we were about to hire one of those."

"I loves a good Bunnings snag and occasionally go there just to get snags and not even go inside bunnings."

But, the best part of their day?

"Well, the ceremony obviously. "If I answer with anything else the Mrs will get angry."
