Mum shares hilarious school photo fail of her son

Missouri mum Lauren Boone Hutsell thought dressing her son in a green shirt for school photo day was a great idea. After all, bright green 'should look great against the grey or taupe background' the school had used the year before.

Little did she know that this simple wardrobe decision would lead to the most hilarious #momfail of all time.

In a post to her Facebook Hutsell, 42, wrote that her son Carter had immediately come home from photo day worried the shirt was a big mistake.

"It will blend in with the green screen they used!" he said. 

“They used a green screen? What?!" she replied. "I probably should have read some fine print. Maybe they will be OK."

Narrator: It was not OK.

The result was a collection of photos with Carter's head and arms floating against a variety of backgrounds.

We are absolutely dying at these photos. They're too funny for words.

Seeing the silver lining, Hutsell wrote, "At least his hair and smile were on point!" True. You could even say they're the most… outstanding feature.

The 42-year-old uploaded the photos to Facebook at the insistence of her friends, using a variety of hashtags like #momoftheyear and #yearbookworthy. The post has since received over 40,000 shares, 10,000 comments and nearly 60,000 likes.

She has since attracted a bunch of messages from other mums thanking her for sharing the fail and making them laugh.

In a blog post for Love What Matters, Hutsell wrote, "As moms, we do the best we can. We love our kids. We support. We encourage. And we try to prepare. But in the end, there’s a chance our kids will still have a floating head in a flag, autumn scene or brick wall. And that my friends, is a hilarious thing to be okay with."

We think so too.
