Your dogs could be the reason your neighbours hate you, according to a new poll

Can't live with them, can certainly live without them: The people have spoken out about the most annoying things their neighbours do, and the list endless.

According to the results of an exclusive Nine reader poll, the least annoying neighbour complaints include annoying children (three per cent), taking parking spots (five per cent), overgrown gardens (five per cent), and loud music (six per cent).

Some found their nosy neighbours to be on par with those who don't look after their properties, with each category receiving eight per cent of the 626 votes each.

Eleven per cent of neighbours made too much noise, but double the amount exacerbated this with their loudly barking dogs.

But the majority of the votes go to "none of these", with 32 per cent saying that their complaints go beyond the ones listed.

Participants said they "would have loved to have chosen multiple responses for neighbours."

"I could have ticked several boxes and made up my own," said one.

Others aired their grievances with their own neighbours.

"Tenants leave garbage on the balcony, parks her car in the driveway no parking bylaw and have a cat. No pet bylaw. Also swears really loud. Ferals," said one fed-up commenter. 

"My neighbors have parked their car in front of my place with a trailer and don't move it. I have to put my bins in my driveway otherwise they don't get emptied,: said another.

"The neighbour behind toot car horns regularly, bang bin lids, dog barks for long periods, talk loudly outside when seeing people off at night even well after midnight, have been reported to council with no help," complained one.

"Loud neighbours are the worst!! Especially when complaining to them or local authorities, they just play the music louder and longer next time. There should be a way to fine them or some sort of punishment," one commenter stated.
