Others were a bit more conservative with their budget, with six per cent of those surveyed willing to spend $500-$1000, and another six per cent budgeting in the $300-$499 range.
Many were even more reasonable with their budget, with 28 per cent of participants sharing that they will be spending within the $100-$299 range, while 24 per cent will be spending less than $100 on each child.
The remaining 35 per cent of participants said the question was not relevant to them.
One poll participant shared what is possibly in the hearts of all parents: "The money spent per child is ongoing & impossible to quantify."

Last year, we posed a similar question, asking our readers, "With the cost of living crisis, how much will you be spending on Christmas presents?"
Though responses were varied, it did reveal something about our Christmas shopping habits year on year.
Most of the respondents revealed they were budgeting $300-$800 for Christmas presents this year, with 27 per cent of respondents allocating this amount for their gift shopping.
Most other poll participants revealed they were planning to spend less than $300.

Twenty-five per cent of respondents said they planned to spend between $100 to $300, while 14 per cent said they were budgeting $50 to $100.
Nineteen per cent of respondents shared that they were planning to spend under $50 on gifts.
The numbers show Aussies remain fairly consistent, even one year on.
One respondent shared their hack to ensure a great Christmas on a budget.
"For Christmas and birthday gifts, I have been making small orders through Temu since the beginning of the years and ALL my presents are wrapped, tagged and hidden away," she shared.
"If I hadn't been able to do this then there wouldn't be a Christmas this year. I'm finding it harder every fortnight on my pension to pay for essentials, let alone a few special things."
