Michelle Obama’s incredible speech on what it’s like being a woman

Michelle Obama and husband Barack don’t live in the White House any more, but the couple are passionate about the politics they believe in; and for Michelle, a huge part of that is protecting and educating fellow women.

The former First Lady of the United States was recently at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women in Philadelphia where she took part in a discussion with acclaimed television producer Shonda Rhimes about women’s empowerment. Rhimes asked Michelle: “Do you think that women in general have less chances to fail? You fail once, people start labeling you faster than they’d label a man ever.”

Michelle responded eloquently and succinctly, as she so often does, and spoke of how “the bar” keeps getting higher and higher for women, making it ever-impossible to achieve.

She also made an apparent reference to President Donald Trump and “the bar”, saying “And we’re seeing that now, quite frankly, the bar is … I mean …” gesturing with her hand that the bar lately just keeps dropping. “That bar is going places,” Rhimes offered.
