MAFS Dean and Tracey: ‘We are not paid actors’

Markeeta Waddington

There's often a lot of talk about whether participants on Married At First Sight  are paid actors, hired to cause a storm.

Exclusively, on last night’s Talking Married, Shelly Horton straight out asked that very question to the most controversial pair on the show.

Dean Wells and Tracey Jewel have been at the eye of the storm in this season of MAFS, so we all waited with baited breath for the answer.

Wells replied with, “I wish we were.”

Horton coined the term 'dramality' to describe the controversial pair, saying there story is all drama and reality rolled into one.

The couple more than agree with Horton, and Jewel said that it would certainly be easier if they were actors and it wasn’t real life.

Wells admitted that he had been getting asked, to his face, if he were an actor.

There’s no doubt that Wells’ actions on the show have often left us speechless and gasping at how someone could do such a thing.

Firstly there’s the moment where Wells and Davina Rankin are flirting in a corner while Jewel tells the other brides that she feels ‘respected’ by Wells.

Then, he comes clean to Jewel about Rankin and tells her that he wants to stand by her at the commitment ceremony.

Jewel decides Wells is well worth it, appreciated his honesty, and stayed on so they could remain together.

This went down right in front of Rankin, much to her surprise. She was still under the impression Wells was going to choose her and they would be together.

After all this ‘dramality’ it's little wonder people were asking themselves if this roller coaster of emotion could possibly be real.

But, perhaps sadly for the pair, this is their reality – no acting involved.
