Man needs pictures from girlfriend to finish grocery list

It doesn't take much to 'divide the internet' these days. Opinions of food, television show endings and the colours of dresses - without even making mention of politics - can send an entire herd of people into a frenzy.

So it's really not much of a surprise that a text chain between a woman and her boyfriend has caused a frenzy among Twitter users.

The conversation, which was posted to the social media website by Twitter user Rato_K, was about what to buy from the grocery store. Seems pretty commonplace, no?

Well, most of the conversation consists of the woman's boyfriend asking for pictures of the items on the list that she gave him, showing that he was absolutely unable to do the shopping for himself without her direct input.

Apparently, the man didn't seem to know what 'ready grated Parmesan cheese' or 'prawns' looked like, so he continually demanded pictures of what she needed from the store.

If that wasn’t baffling enough, he then sent his girlfriend a picture of the aisle that contained stock cubes and pots, claiming that they didn’t have any fish stock available.

She then had to confirm that, yes, they did, and it looked exactly the same as the one she’d just sent him a picture of.

While the Twitter user had posted these pictures thinking that they were cute and endearing, a whole lot of commenters thought otherwise.

One person replied with ‘Nothing cute here….Grow up!’ while many more compared her to his son. Another said, ‘How are these kinds of men even surviving in the real world?’

Someone who’s clearly a big fan of this strategy said:  ‘If your woman asks you to do a chore, make a mess of it otherwise it becomes your job. You’re welcomed gents’.

Whether or not you think this outright incompetence is adorable or cringeworthy, it seems like this, for now, is what's dividing the internet.
