Lazy shopper confronted by Aussie driver after leaving trolley in front of car, metres from return bay

Aussies have become enraged by footage of a lazy shopper who has committed not one but two faux pas.

Dashcam footage shared to the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook Group, which has now been viewed 277 thousand times, shows a shopper – wearing a white top and brown leggings – seemingly about to return a trolley to the bay, as the driver turned into a parking spot.

But to the driver's surprise, the shopper left the trolley in the little gap created by a yellow barricade, leaving the driver unable to park their car all the way.

But not only did the shopper stop the driver from parking, the driver, wearing black, got out of the car to angrily confront the shopper, pointing to the trolley bay that was just metres away.

The driver then took the trolley herself and slammed it into the bay in frustration before being able to properly park her car.

"The shopping cart is the ultimate litmus test for whether a person is capable of self-governing," the video was captioned.

Commenters were astounded by the unbelievable footage.

"That made me angrier than I'd like to admit," said one commenter.

"Oh my laaawwwwd! I commend your restraint," wrote another.

"People push a trolley around for half an hour and the last 30 seconds is the hardest," one observed.

"People really show their true colours when it comes to putting things away properly," added another.

"I judge people so hard on whether they take the trolley back to the bay, if they don't they are a horrible human being. This one is the worst kind given it was so close and so little effort," one commenter said.

But some defended the shopper.

"Probably a stay at home mum that is way too busy to put a trolley back where is supposed to be," one said.

"I dump my trolley as I believe it creates a job for someone since the self serve checkouts have taken away jobs from others," added another.

"I often wonder about the ethics of putting the trolley away. On one hand it makes the trolley collectors job easier. On the other hand if everyone puts them away then the trolley collector gets less work," one philosophical comment read.

"I always put it away," they added.
