"It's nothing to do with me, so please block & report if they message you."
The DM sent by the fake account to one of Woods' followers claimed to be from her "Online manager and personal assistance".
"She's reaching out to her fans," it read. "And you're among the one chosen to talk to her on private chat would you love to talk to her?"
The poorly written message can obviously be read as a scam, however it's easy to see how an excited fan skimming over the text could get swept up in it all.

"I also don't have any private Instagram accounts in my name & I don't have an assistant, so again please block & report," she said. 'There are some awful people about! Be careful."

"It's got to work on some level otherwise companies wouldn't do it".
