Kate Midddleton pictured driving a Land Rover over rough terrain

Kate Middleton and husband Prince William are back at work after the Duchess’ brief hiatus following the announcement that she is pregnant with her third child, and suffering from severe morning sickness.

The royal pair are currently touring the West Midlands in the UK, and started with a trip to the Land Rover factory, where they enjoyed a spot of off-road driving.

The Duchess is currently four months pregnant, and dressed her growing bump in a coat from Goat which she first wore when carrying Princess Charlotte in 2014. 

Kate, who is always happy to get involved with sports and arts during her engagement, hopped behind the wheel of a car and impressed locals by navigating flawlessly over the rough terrain.

And it would appear she's following in the royal footsteps: the Queen herself loves to drive, and is often pictured steering her own Land Rover or Jaguar around the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

Keith Wyness, club chief executive of Aston Villa, said to the Duchess: “Welcome back to the home of one of your husband's other passions.”

The Duchess took the quip lightly, and smiled: 'Yes, he's been very excited by it.'

William, who is President of the Football Association, laughed and said: “It'll be interesting to see if she's been listening to any of my conversations about football”, to which his wife joked “I knew I should have.”

Ah the royals; they’re just like us.
