Catherine stuns as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attend the BAFTAs
You can always count on the Duchess of Cambridge to stop traffic!
Catherine and husband, Prince William are guests of honour at the biggest night in British film and television tonight — the British Academy Film and Television Awards (BAFTAs). And she's pulled out all the stops as the couple attend the event together for the first time.
Kate opted for a jaw-dropping tiered gown by her wedding dress designer, Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. The off-the-shoulder floral floor-sweeping dress with bodice and flared skirt provided just enough drama for the evening's proceedings, where Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone's musical blockbuster La La Land is nominated for 11 awards. The Duchess opted for a sleek chignon to show off her diamond earrings, sparkling cuff and understated mini clutch bag.
William has been the President of the British Academy since February 2010. He is due to present the highest BAFTA accolade, The Fellowship which recognises outstanding and exceptional contribution to the big or small screen. Mel Brooks is this year's recipient.
The royal couple were all smiles as they walked the red carpet at London's Royal Albert Hall. The capital is currently in the midst of a cold snap where temperatures have dropped below freezing.
