Inside Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough's 'lovely' commitment ceremony

Karl Stefanovic and his fiancée Jasmine Yarbrough have taken the next step in their relationship by exchanging vows in a commitment ceremony.

The ceremony was held on Saturday in the back garden of a private home in Sydney's Palm Beach and was a small affair, attended by friends and family members.

"It was lovely to have family and the kids there for the celebration," Karl, 43, tells 9Honey.

The guests included the TODAY co-host's brother, Peter, and wife Sylvia Jeffreys, and Jasmine's sister and her parents.

Jasmine, 34, wore a floor-length, floaty floral dress for the occasion.

During Sunday's episode of Weekend Today, Peter Stefanovic shared some details of the family's "little soiree" with co-host Allison Langdon.

"We had ourselves a little barbecue, a few XXXX Golds, Karl burnt the snags, usual," he quipped, before congratulating his brother and future sister-in-law.

"They are awesome people, proud of 'em," he added.

Karl's sister-in-law and fellow TODAY host Sylvia Jeffreys described the ceremony as "beautiful" and said it reflected the couple.

"It was very them - full of love and full of laughter, and a very special occasion for the two families to come together and to share something so intimate," she recalled on Monday.

"Big love to them both, big love to the whole family."

Karl and Jasmine have been in a relationship for roughly a year, and went public with their engagement last month.

Speaking exclusively to TheFIX at the time, Karl said the pair "are happy and grateful" but a wedding would not take place until a little later.

"When Jasmine came into my life, I had no thoughts of new love or the future, but we are happy and grateful we found each other," the Gold Logie winner said of his shoe designer fiancee.

"We are yet to work out when we will get married, but probably later this year. We are both very happy."

Despite wild media speculation on various aspects of their relationship, Karl told TheFIX there was absolutely no truth to the far-reaching claims.

"Jas isn’t pregnant. The ring was made by Nic Cerrone and didn’t cost $120,000. Those figures are ridiculous," he says.

"And there is no media deal. Don’t believe everything you read, unless it's here."

The Queensland-raised couple's relationship has played out in the public eye following the TV personality's high-profile divorce but friends and family of the pair say they just want to quietly get on with life.
