Women leave the workforce for many different reasons, and trying to re-enter it can prove very difficult.

One such woman, Annie, approached A Current Affair for help finding a job - and she got the best help in the business.

Fitted For Work, an Australia-wide charity that helps women trying to get into the workforce, sent along its own experts to help Annie out.

"Ultimately it's about economic security for women," CEO Donna De Zwart said.

"We do that by enabling women to get ready for work, get work, and keep work."

The charity has helped more than 30,000 women off the unemployment line.

Fitted For Work helps with clothes, resumes, and guidance for woman out of work.

"It's about us being able to empower women to be the best version of themselves for the rest of their lives," Ms De Zwart said.

Resume and interview guru Emily Jaksch said Annie's resume was originally "a bit all over the shop".

"So what I did was really condense it into three pages, and succinctly explained what her previous background was in a really great way," she said.

Emily's tips for a rock-star resume include: keeping it simple, three pages max, highlighting your key skills and achievements, keeping your CV generic, and customising your cover letter.

Her "dont's" include avoiding personal info (such as marriage or family status), never sending the CV off with spelling mistakes, and no fudging your past experience.

Annie also received a week's worth of interview outfits, and a make-up styling session.

"I'm a different person, I'm happy and excited," Annie said.

"Looking forward to going out there and getting that job now. I'm going to get it, definitely."
