Jai Arrow gets emotional speaking about fiancée Berina Colakovic and daughter Ayla Rae Arrow

NRL star Jai Arrow got emotional thinking of his family after he farewelled them ahead of their month-long holiday on the other side of the world.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs player, 30, told Today that his Canadian fiancée Berina Colakovic and their three-month-old daughter Ayla Rae headed off to Canada last night.

"They're away at the moment, they've gone back over to Canada for a few weeks. So Berina's got two weddings over there. She's obviously Canadian and has had to make the trip over with the little one last night, so I had to give him a big cuddle and kiss and no doubt I'll see them soon," he said.

Speaking of his early start in the studio, the 30-year-old said he is "fairly used to it at the moment with my little one... I would call this morning a good little sleep in instead of two in the morning."

The first-time dad spoke about his new journey into fatherhood, saying "It's definitely a challenge. It can be difficult, but I will say being a parent is the most enjoyable time of your life.

"And she's obviously a bundle of joy. And my partner Berina is obviously, I think, the best mum in the world," he said before admitting he was "getting quite emotional about it actually."

"But yeah, I love them very much," he said, as everyone in the studio was "in tears" at his declaration.

The couple first announced they were expecting seven months ago via an Instagram post.

In a joint post, they shared images of themselves frolicking in the ocean as they cradled Colakovic's bump and shared sonograph photos.

Arrow wore a casual white linen shirt and beige pants, while Colakovic wore a sheer white crop top and skirt set, perfect for the beach.

"Our newest little roomie joining us in 2025," Colakovic shared as the caption on the post.

Months later, they welcomed the bundle of joy with another Instagram post. The new mum penned, "9 months and a lifetime more, we love love you Ayla Rae Arrow".

Alongside the caption were photos of the couple in the hospital with their new bub, on their babymoon, and preparing for their little one's arrival.

The news followed even more cause for celebration, with Arrow popping the question just months beforehand

In October 2024, the couple shared a series of snaps from their Italian holiday, with the pair getting engaged on the waterfront.

With the couple matching in black ensembles, Colakovic wrote, "Grateful to have found my forever person, I love you so much. YES 💍"
