Ivanka Trump's perfume is a bestseller despite boycott calls

Her clothing line might have been dropped from major American retailers like Nordstrom due to claims of poor sales, but Ivanka Trump's perfume is fairing much better — taking the number one spot on Amazon.com's beauty bestseller list this weekend. 

The online retailer revealed that 'Ivanka Trump Eau de Parfum Spray for Women' flew off the virtual aisles last week, even though opponents of her father, President Trump have been boycotting the First Family's products. It seems though that supporters of the Republican President are also voting with their dollars.

"We don't have a lot extra", shopper Miranda Taylor wrote on Saturday morning. "But we felt we needed to show our support for our President and his family. If buying a $15 perfume helps just a little in sending a message to those companies that are caving in to the left and their intolerant hate of OUR President then so be it."

While another said they felt compelled to support the First Daughter after the backlash.

"Almost all the reviews are since the election", Vesta wrote. "I'm ashamed of my fellow Americans who took their time to review a product they haven't used to hopefully punish someone who is a relative of someone they don't like. I didn't know Ivanka sold perfume but after reading the childish behaviour I just ordered some."

Others, though, have been using the comments section to voice their opinions — albeit in a tongue-in-cheek way.

"Really interesting scent of bigotry, white nationalism, and fake news... just not me", one wrote.

But one shopper is facing the ultimate political-beauty conundrum. 

"I hate the brand and the person behind it", another said. "Ok judging just on the perfume( and not the person name on it) it a soild [sic] even though I highly recomand [sic] boycotting it its so hard to resist."

The perfume retails from $15 USD to $46.50 USD. The $15 bottle is currently sold out.
