12 steps to emotional and physical health
Dr Habib Sadeghi, D.O, the guru to stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Anne Hathaway, has just revealed how to get in tip top emotional and physical shape.
His new book is called The Clarity Cleanse: 12 Steps to Emotional and Physical Health.
Dr Sadeghi has long been the go-to guy for advice and found that he wanted to share this way of giving back in life.
After he battled cancer in his second year of medical school, Dr Sadeghi tells TODAY that this way of thinking helped save his life.

“I thought I was going to die and only had a 30 percent chance of survival.”
Dr Sadeghi says finding clarity in the mind and body is vital, along with paying attention to trauma that has been largely ignored.
“The book has a focus on recognising trauma and that can be applied to many ailments and chronic diseases.”
Dr Sadeghi encourages people to dig deep into whatever trauma they have experienced and then through a series of steps, use this adversity to move on and start the healing process.

Among his 12 steps, Dr Sadeghi strongly recommends as a part of his comprehensive program:
- Set goals and intentions
- Connect with your authentic self
- Access unresolved emotions
- Exercise
- Cleansing diet – to help reduce inflammation in the body
- Journaling – “Research out of the Universtiy of Oregon has just revealed the benefits of journaling. Imagine sitting down for 12 minutes a day from the comfort of your own home and exploring what is disturbing you and why; it’s a very powerful way to reflect.”
Dr Sadeghi also stresses that while his proggram are important for your mind and body’s clarity and good health, these practices should be used in tandem with medical advice from your doctor to get optimum results.
