'This happened': Billionaire Alex Soros reveals he is engaged to political staffer Huma Abedin
Billionaire Alex Soros has announced his engagement to political staffer, Huma Abedin.
The couple shared the news to the world on Instagram, sharing a picture of the moment Abedin said yes.
"This happened…" Soros wrote. "We couldn't be happier, more grateful, or more in love."

Soros, 38, proposed to Abedin, 47, in their New York City home in May, they told Vogue. The couple later had a formal celebration in Italy.
The couple first met last year at a mutual friend's birthday party, where they bonded over their mutual interests in politics and public service.
Soros is the chairman of Open Society Foundations and has recently taken over his father George Soros's $US 25 billion empire (approx. $37 billion), which includes OSF, Soros Fund Management, and a super-PAC.
Abedin is most known for her 30-year-long political career as a deputy chief of staff for Hillary Clinton and later vice chair of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign.
She was at the centre of the politician's 2016 email scandal after emails between her and Clinton were found on her then-husband Anthony Weiner's laptop as he was being investigated by the FBI for sending illicit messages to a 15-year-old girl. Weiner later entered into a plea agreement sentence including 21 months in federal prison. He was released from prison on February 17, 2019 and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
She is now a published author, releasing her 2021 memoir Both/And, and is now co-host of MSNBC political talk show Morning Mika.
They are poised to be the next political "power couple", with Soros previously telling the Wall Street Journal that he will use his platform to support Democratic politicians, voting and abortion rights.

The pair have since been seen together at a number of high-profile events, including the 2024 Met Gala and the White House state dinner honoring the Kenyan president, William Ruto.
After their marriage, Soros will officially become the stepfather to Abedin's thirteen-year-old son Jordan, whom she shares with Weiner.
Abedin was previously linked to actor Bradley Cooper, having dated him in 2022.
