You probably throw this in the bin, but it makes for surprisingly effective paint roller storage

We can't brush over the fact that paint can be messy, and the packing and storing of painting tools even messier.

However, one DIY guru has come to the rescue, sharing a storage hack for paint rollers that has racked up 7.8 million views.

The Home Improvements UK shared a TikTok revealing how to use a Pringles can and a drill to keep your hands clean, and your paint roller packed after having used it.

To transform the Pringles container into a storage tube, the DIYer first drills a hole in the lid before sliding it onto the metal roller frame that the roller cover usually slides on.

Leaving the lid right atop the handle, he adds the roller cover then shows viewers clips of himself using the paint roller.

Once finished, he slides the plastic lid up to the roller cover and grabs the Pringles can, closing it in over the paint roller.

He even reveals that different sized Pringle cans can be used for different sized paint rollers, both available sizes fitting well with his hack.

Thousands took to the comments to express their delight with the new hack.

"No that's actually super smart and clean," one user wrote.

"Well that Sir is genius, that's a hack I would use, great for pushing the roller off too," another added.

Some added their own tips, suggesting that wrapping the paint roller with a plastic bag and keeping it in the fridge works also.

Others responded with humour, joking that the use of a Pringles can in particular would be a distraction.

"Think I'll buy some Pringles and think about painting in the near future," one wrote. "One step at a time."

"Thanks for an excuse to buy Pringles!" another joked.
