For years, white sneakers have been the go-to shoe to elevate any outfit. Whether it be a casual stroll down the street or a night out with friends, a white sneaker is one of the most versatile pieces of any person's wardrobe.

However, it's a well-known fact they're not the easiest wardrobe item to maintain.

We've all felt the pressure to keep our white sneakers looking clean and crisp. It feels like there's a new hack every week, whether it be scrubbing them with bleach and a toothbrush, or leaving them with the washing machine to work its magic.

But this one might just be a game changer.

TikTok user @grace.e.martinn has taken to the platform to share her newest life changing discovery – taking a trip to the car wash to pressure wash her shoes.

Lining up their shoes against the wall of a car wash bay, two friends can be seen taking the pressure washer, typically used to get dust and grime off the hood of a car, to instead tackle the coat of mud and dirt covering their New Balance sneakers. 

The execution is smooth, the results are flawless, and the idea itself can be described as nothing short of genius. 

However, the comment section is an full of mixed reviews.

Some users are praising the girls for their ingenuity, some are confused as to how the idea was born, and others are just plain worried about the safety of the method. 

TikTok user @julia_adamowicz seemed to be a huge fan of the idea, commenting, "Okay I need to know which one of you came up with it and I need her to be my friend cuz this is genius."

Whereas others, such as @hsvtesla, remain a little skeptical, saying, "The sink? The washing machine? The tub? 😂 but I guess if it works for you 👏✨"

But possibly the most popular suggestion was to make sure that any and all body parts be kept out of the way when using a pressure washer. 

User @untilyoufaceit commented, "doing it ON UR FOOT is making my stomach churn u can slice a toe off omg."

Whereas @saint.musicc provided all viewers with a clear warning, "For people watching: don't do it on your foot if you're using a stronger pressure washer, it can slice it."

The revolutionary idea changes the game of sneaker cleaning, however it ranks up there as one of the more dangerous methods.

So please, if you're going to try it, keep your hands and feet away from the pressure washer at all times.
