Woman shares DIY streak-free spray that repels fingerprints

Stainless steel and mirrors are notoriously tricky to clean without leaving streak marks behind.

A woman has revealed her DIY recipe for a cleaning solution that promises to leave reflective surfaces streak-free whilst repelling fingerprints.

Organising and cleaning account A Life Better Organized shared her simple solution that only uses four household ingredients.

The viral TikTok video was captioned: No fingerprints? Yes please!! This cleaning hack is a must try, so don't sleep on it."

Starting with a spray bottle, which is optional, mix half a cup of water, three tablespoons of Rinse Aid, two and a half tablespoons of Isopropyl Alcohol (70%) and a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid.

This solution will cut through grease and grime, leaving behind a sparkling finish that won't streak and prevent fingerprint marks.

Reflective surfaces always seem to leave water streaks behind, immediately susceptible to smudges and stubborn marks.

The key to this solution is the combination of ingredients. Water acts as a base, dish soap helps remove grease and grime, and alcohol removes water stains and disinfects the surface.

Rinse Aid is the "magic" in this DIY hack. It was initially made to help dishwashers clean effectively, but it is highly versatile.

Preventing hard-water stains, Rinse Aid breaks the surface tension of water, leaving behind a streak-free and sparkling finish.

Once Rinse Aid has dried on a surface, water slides off of reflective surfaces instead of sticking and leaving unsightly marks when dried.

Though this hack appears to work well in TikTok, it is always recommended to do a patch test in a small area before using any cleaning product on something it's not designed for.

It's also important to read the instructions on the packaging for any surface the product can't be used on.
