This air fryer mistake could be 'driving up' your power bill
Anyone who owns an air fryer knows just how convenient the kitchen appliance is.
But air fryer owners have been warned that one simple mistake could be causing their electricity bills to soar.
One air fryer expert has revealed that neglecting to clean your air fryer makes it use more energy than it should to run.

"A dirty air fryer has to work harder, which means you could be using 10 to 30 per cent more electricity and driving up your bills," Martin Senders, Phillips' air fryer expert and professional chef said, per Daily Record.
"Ideally, you should clean it after every use, though that's not always the case for many of us with families to care for. While social media is full of easy and helpful cleaning hacks, they often involve expensive products and take too much time out of our busy schedules.
"You don't need to splash the cash on fancy cleaning products to extend the life of your air fryer, as a handful of items you already have in your kitchen can help you avoid any pesky extra costs and keep your food tasting delicious for every bite."

In the TikTok, the company revealed a simple "cleaning hack" to get your air fryer spick and span again using three simple kitchen staples.
The company recommended covering the bottom of the air fryer with baking (bicarb) soda, dishwashing liquid, all-purpose cleaning spray and boiling water into the mix.
After letting it sit for 20 minutes, take a kitchen sponge and "gently wash away any residue" to reveal a squeaky clean air fryer.
