Groom winces as wife-to-be hugs ex-boyfriend 'one last time'

A groom appeared stunned when his future wife asked if she could embrace her ex-boyfriend "one last time" during their wedding reception.

The bride captured the couple's lavish wedding celebration in Malaysia in a video later shared on TikTok.

It included a curious moment when the pair were seen greeting one of their guests, who happened to be the bride's former partner.

In the video, viewed more than 5.5 million times, the ex-partner approaches the couple to congratulate them, offering his hand for the bride to shake.

However, she holds up one finger, before asking her husband, "Can I hug him just one more time?"

As the groom nods reluctantly, the woman wraps her arms around her ex in a tender embrace, stroking his back while clutching her bouquet.

When they release, the ex shakes the husband's hand in thanks, but quickly turns it into a warm hug.

In the comments, some TikTok users noted the husband's "hurt" expression, saying he "immediately looked down" when he saw his wife touch her ex.

"Your face can't lie bro, it's hurt, but it's okay," wrote one user.

"Smile in pain," said another.

However, some jumped to the bride's defence.

"At least she asked for permission," said one person.
