Groom breaks down after 12-year-old Aryanna's question

A groom has been brought to tears by the question his bride's 12-year-old daughter posed to him just before he said 'I do'.

In the middle of her mother Tia's wedding to husband-to-be Frank Tyson, young Aryanna stepped onto the altar, handing him a piece of paper and asking him a simple question.

"I've waited 2555 days for this moment," Aryanna began. Looking nervous and getting a little tearful, the youngster then asked, "Frank, will you be my dad?"

Overcome with emotion, Tyson immediately embraced Aryanna as his wife wiped away tears.

2555 days equates to exactly seven years — the length of time Aryanna feels Frank has been like a father to her.

The youngster's question was a moment that everyone in the wedding had been expecting — everyone except Tyson.

Recalling the moment, he told Happily News "It was an amazing feeling."

"When she started reading her note and it all clicked, I just pretty much became speechless," he said.

At the reception, the new father and daughter took to the floor to enjoy their first dance together.

Of the future, Tyson told the publication: "The most I'm looking forward to is just her being her.

"Her being a social butterfly and becoming [the] woman [that] she is and just being herself — a strong, independent woman."

The family is now awaiting a court date to make Tyson's adoption of young Aryanna official.
