The 'back-breaking' Christmas ritual most Aussies can't let go of
There are two types of people in the world – those who wrap their gifts, and those who use a gift bag.
While it seems like a simple divide, there are many nuances to it, often resulting in debate.
While some swear by the art of perfectly folding wrapping paper over a present to provide some excitement for the receiver, there are just as many who sacrifice that delicacy for the convenience of a gift bag.

Aussies have delivered their verdict on the best way to present their gifts in an exclusive nine.com.au poll.
Many people are partial to using a gift bag, with 14 per cent of Aussies loving the ease of slipping a present into beautiful, ready-to-go packaging.
"I love the convenience of a gift bag but I do understand the intrigue and wonder in unwrapping a gift - I just absolutely suck at wrapping them," said one person surveyed.

"As someone who cannot wrap a present to save my life, I love a cheeky gift bag. But my partner reckons it is 'cheating'," another added.
Five per cent of people surveyed are looking out for the environment and their wallet, re-using wrapping paper and gift bags that they were gifted.
"I love when people give me presents in gift bags because then I can reuse them," said one.
"I reuse most of my wrapping and gift bags to try and reduce waste," said one.
"I also keep some of my 'nicer' shopping bags to use as gift bags – the amount of times I've had to say, 'Sorry, it's not actually from Mecca.'"
Another added, "My family has a plastic bag full of gift bags that we draw from whenever we need."
However, it turns out that the people willing to sit down and do the back-breaking labour of wrapping presents are still in the majority, with a whopping 72 per cent of Aussies still preferring to wrap presents.
"I always thought you had to wrap gifts, even if they go in gift bags?" one person shared, "So a bag is just an addition."

"I don't buy a gift bag unless I absolutely have to, so I'd probably be more inclined to just wrap," said another.
And finally, some people have no particular preference for the way their gifts are delivered to them. In fact, some have very loud opinions on it.
"People who complain about how a gift is delivered are the worst," said one person surveyed.
"Whether it's wrapped, in a gift bag, or dumped in my lap with nothing but a 'there you go', I'm just happy to be receiving a gift."
