Topshop is so haute right now

When it comes to fashion events, it doesn’t get loftier than the Met Museum’s Costume Institute Benefit Gala in NYC. (Where else could Solange have sauntered down the carpet in an intergalactic version of Marilyn Monroe’s subway grate moment without anyone  blinking an eye?)Traditionally, it’s couture territory, but over the past few years High Street retailers have gradually started to encroach. This year, Topshop dressed no fewer than nine gala attendees: models Lily Donaldson, Maryna Linchuk, Emily Ratajkowski, Natasha Poly, Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin and Josephine de la Baume. On the man front, de la Baume’s husband, musician Mark Ronson, and racing driver, Lewis Hamilton both looked dapper in Topman.

What’s more, many of the looks were almost immediately available to buy online.

Bella Hadid wears Topshop.

Hailey’s high-necked mini, de la Baume’s red fishtail maxi and Hadid’s black body con number can be yours for around $350.

The only downside? You’ll have to be quick. Emily Ratajkowski’s embellished long-sleeved gown, which made it onto a number of best-dressed lists, appears to have sold out already.

Emily Ratajkowski's long-sleeved gown was a red carpet favourite.

Fast fashion doesn’t get much speedier than that.
