When it comes to shopping Lupe Puerta is the party dress whisperer, working for luxury e-tailer Net-a-porter as their head of personal shopping, looking after the company's EIPs (extremely important people).
Lupe recently dropped into Australia to check on local lovers of fashion with bulging purses and shared her knowledge of the labels to shop for now and who to keep an eye on in 2017.

What are Australians looking for this party season?
All of our customers globally are now looking for diversity when it comes to party dressing, as women want more individuality in their purchases. I’s all about shine and sequined separates and no longer just about the little black dress. Our party edit consists of everything from a sequined pant suit to a lamé middle skirt and embellished velvet platforms.

What are your top 5 party pieces this season?
Sonia Rykiel's cropped sequined sweater ($1456)- I’d layer mine over a chic crepe blouse and pair it with a printed midi skirt.

Reformation’s silk slip in red ($377), teamed with a t-shirt, heels and some stunning gold jewellery.

SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker’s Westminster metallic red sandals ($399), they’ll see me through the party season in style and they’ll look great worn with everything, from jeans to dresses.
