Now North West won't be the only toddler wearing Givenchy

Encouraged by a response to one-off creations for Kim and Kanye's daughter North West, French fashion house Givenchy is launching a collection aimed at knee-high followers of fashion and their label-obsessed mothers. Expect to see $130 T-shirts and $500 coats at your next Paris-themed play date.
The bold, graphic designs of departing creative director Riccardo Tisci, will available to buy in a 130-piece range based on the French fashion house’s most popular grown-up styles.

Over-sized slogan knitwear, hoodies, utility boots and bomber jackets dominate the determinedly urban collection.

For bean counters at Givenchy's head office, diving into childrenswear was a natural progression before the arrival of new creative director and former Chloe designer Clare Waight Keller in May.
"It's an organic extension. It's not about putting the logo on a commercial product, it's really an extrapolation of a certain look, turning it into a very candid and romantic way of dressing the next generation of customers," Givenchy CEO Philippe Fortunato told Business of Fashion.

Givenchy isn’t the only luxury brand to cater to children looking for an upgrade from their Bonds onesie.
Dior first launched Baby Dior way back in 1967, but the past few years have seen designers such as Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Fendi and Burberry putting their creations on smaller backs everywhere.
The rise of style savvy celebrity offspring such as David and Victoria Beckham’s daughter Harper, who never puts a sartorial bootie wrong and Beyoncé and Jay Z's daughter Blue Ivy, who already owns a $32,000 Gucci dress, is offering encouragement for a growing market.
