This tiny detail on your Levi's jeans could mean they're worth a whopping $50k
Right now, you could be walking around with $50,000 dollars in your pocket without even knowing it.
If you're wearing a pair of vintage Levi's jeans, that is.
It turns out some Levi's owners could sitting on a small fortune, with news some of the brand's older jeans are worth around $50,000.

If you've got a hold of a pair of Levi's from between 1949 and 1954, you'll be pleased to know you're in the market to make a pretty penny online.
But, since Levi's doesn't label its products with the year of manufacture, you're going to have to do a little bit of investigating to find out when your jeans were made.
In period from 1949 to 1954, Levi's used a much sharper font – slightly slanted – and that's one of the main things you want to be looking for.
But the real giveaway will be whether you have an uppercase or lowercase letter 'E'. Lowercase and you're out of luck, but uppercase? You could be about to make a small fortune.
As far as other details to keep an eye out for, Levi's has a whole section on their website on how to spot a valuable pair of jeans.
The Levi's experts say to follow these steps to figure out if you've got a true pair of vintage jeans on your hands.
- Check if the word LEVI'S® is in all capital letters, or whether it has a small letter "e" instead. The Tab with LEVI'S (also known as "Big E") means the jeans are from before 1971.
- Look for care tabs, which were introduced to Levi's garments in the 1970s.
- Examine the inseams to check for a single stich running down the inner thigh. This is an indication that the jeans were made before the mid-1980s.

So, rush home or head to your nearest op shop, because you never know, you might be able to find a $50 pair of jeans actually worth a couple grand.
If you get lucky enough to really hit the jackpot, the New York Post previously reported a pair of well-loved Levi's jeans from the 1880s sold for a whopping $US76,000 – that's about $271,000.
