The 2024 celebrity-endorsed fashion trend you can nail for under $30
One thing you can count on when it comes to fashion is that trends always find a way to come back around years later.
This year alone has brought back many shoe classics, from the ballet flats to the noughties kitten heel and sporty sneakers (special shoutout to the Adidas Sambas).
But one surprising shoe that seems to be sneaking its way back into wardrobes is one we don't tend to see in celebrity streetwear or high fashion.

Everyone say welcome back to thongs (or 'flip-flops' depending on where you live).
In Aussie land we're used to associating thongs as a summer or beach staple – they're low effort, reasonably comfy and generally an affordable choice of footwear.
Now it seems some of the trendsetting stars are catching on to the appeal but taking it a step further by pairing the understated shoe with everyday street style.

And the good news is the trend can be replicated for just under $30.
While in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, Kendall Jenner was seen Kinu restaurant on August 2 in, you guessed it, a pair of rubber thongs on her feet.

The reality star paired the shoe choice with a silky maxi skirt and sunglasses, bringing together the best of casual and chic fashion in one evening look.
Emily Ratajkowski is another star to have recently endorsed the trend this year.
While out and about strolling the streets of New York City, the model was spotted wearing a pair of chunky platform thongs on June 27, 2024.
For those looking to jump on the trend (while staying on a budget) a similar style to Ratajkowski's shoe is even available on Amazon.
A pair of platform cloud slippers in black by the brand ZIRIA is on sale for $27.81 online.
Meanwhile, a classic pair of slim black thongs similar to the ones Jenner sported earlier this month can be bought from Amazon for just $32.

Thongs have even made their way to the red carpet in recent times.
At the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Jennifer Lawrence memorably held up the skirt of her glamorous gown while walking down the stairs to reveal a pair of black flats on her feet.
"I put on the flip-flops, and then everybody's like, 'What a statement! Wow!'" The Hunger Games alum told Entertainment Tonight, revealing she worn thongs because her shoes had been a size too big.
