Sephora website launch offers brands never before available in Australia
At the opening of Sephora's Pitt St Mall store in Sydney
In December last year, Sephora hit Sydney's Pitt St Mall, bringing with it endless rows of cosmetics and equally endless queues of beauty enthusiasts eager to get their hands on brands that had previously required a plane ticket and a passport to acquire.
Now, the beauty powerhouse furthers its reach with an online store, launching today (goodbye, queues).
No matter where you are in Australia, you can now access the overwhelming number of products available from Sephora. More importantly, however, the launch means many exclusive brands are now being offered Down Under for the first time.
On that list is Sleek Makeup, EMK and Erno Laszlo.
Sleek Makeup is a colour lover's dream, specialising in highly pigmented, unique shades of eyeshadows, lipsticks and blushes.
EMK is an LA-based botanical skincare range that works to reverse the signs of ageing through innovative uses of plant placenta (Victoria Beckham is said to be a fan of the brand's Anti-Ageing Face Serum).
And as for Erno Laszlo, the fact that Audrey Hepburn once claimed "50 per cent of my beauty I owe to my mother, 50 per cent to Erno Laszlo" should be reason enough to give this luxury skincare brand a go.
Along with samples, the site also houses how-to videos, a customer review platform and a 'waitlist me' service that lets customers know when their favourite products are back in stock.
Shipping normally takes between two and 10 working days, depending where in Australia you're located.
So what should you look out for?
According to Amelia, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Kat Von D, IT Cosmetics and the Sephora collection are the brands to put on your 'must' list.
"They were the brands that were highly sought-after and sold out the quickest. Now that the rest of the country is able to get their hands on them, we are sure they'll be equally popular online," says Amelia.
Sephora has two brick and mortar stores in Sydney, with a Melbourne retail space opening late November.
