Gellar stars in the new series, Dexter: Original Sin, which serves as a prequel to the hit 2000s drama, Dexter.

While out in New York promoting the film, the actress attended the premiere at SVA on December 11 in a head-turning look.

Gellar wowed in a sparkly tiered halterneck dress that shimmered right down to her feet.

Years before she was Buffy the vampire slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar made her film debut in the 1983 movie An Invasion of Privacy.

She later got her breakout role on the soap opera All My Children.

At just 18 years old the actress took home her first ever Emmy award for her TV drama role..

In 1995 she won the Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series trophy.

For her major awards show moment, Gellar looked angelic in a simple white dress with a lace bust detail.

Speaking to Who What Wear in 2023, Gellar revealed she wore a replica of this dress for a scene in season one of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

"I still have the original dress," she told the outlet.

1997 was a big year for the rising star.

Not only was she now blonde, but her screen career was taking off.

The actress landed the titular part of Buffy Summers on the supernatural teen drama series Buffy the Vampire Slayer – a role she would become incredibly well-known for.

It was also during this year that she starred in the horror flick I Know What You Did Last Summer alongside her future husband Freddie Prinze Jr.
