Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially begun their four-day visit to Colombia, with the pair making a stylish appearance on day one. 

The Duchess of Sussex dazzled in a luxurious ensemble when greeted by the Colombian Vice President and Minister of Equality and Equity, Francia Márquez, at her official residence.

Looking regal, the former Suits star arrived in an outfit that cost over $87K.

The royal appeared in a button-down Veronica Beard 'Orlinda' Vest in Navy, US$727 (AU$1,099), and matching 'Arte' Pants in Navy, US$526 (AU$795) by the same designer. 

For accessories, Meghan opted for the Loom Bag L32 in Light Travertine €4,200 (AU$6,972) and Manolo Blahnik's BB Pointy Toe Black Suede Pumps AU$1,115.

The Duchess of Sussex wore some of her favourite jewellery for the first day of her tour, arriving in Cartier's Gold Tank Française Watch, AU$36,300 and the brand's 'Love' Yellow Gold Bracelet, AU$12,000.

Meghan also wore Pippa Small Jewellery's Small Kyanite Stud Earrings £495 (AU$821) and Lorraine Schwartz's 'Against Evil Eye' Five Eye Diamond Pave Bracelet US$18,500 (AU$27,987).

All up, her outfit cost more than AU$87,000. For context, the average annual salary in Colombia is around AU$21,000.

Prince Harry joined his wife to take photos alongside Vice President Marquez and her husband, Yerney Pinillo, to mark the beginning of the unofficial royal tour.

The Vice President served the Duke and Duchess morning tea and traditional pan de bono (Colombian cheese bread).

The royals then made their first official stop alongside Marquez at the local Colegio Cultura Popular school in Bogotá to meet with students and the headmaster, wearing the same outfits they arrived in.

Harry and Meghan participated alongside other students in a social media Insight Session that delves into the impact of digital spaces. This topic aligns with the work of the pair's Archewell Foundation.

After visiting Bogotá, the royals will continue to Cartagena and Cali.

Earlier this month, Marquez said the royals would "engage with leaders, youth, and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians committed to progress".

The Colombian trip comes just months after the pair visited Nigeria in May on an unofficial royal tour.
