Falling asleep in your makeup is a cardinal beauty sin, second only to sunbathing.
Former makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis is breaking the beauty law with an organic, gluten-free range of cosmetics designed to be worn to bed.
Weis’s namesake beauty range, which she founded in 2010, is formulated using natural materials free from parabens, silicone and synthetic fragrances.

The organic ingredients are designed to help the skin from falling victim to clogged pores, break outs and rashes, which can occur if you fall asleep with a caked-on face.

Danish-born Weis came up with the concept when she was working as a makeup artist and saw models suffering from skin problems due to their use of mainstream beauty products.
"I didn’t have any natural products in my kit because the performance wasn’t up to par with traditional brands,” Weis revealed to Violet Grey.
"My goal was to merge the two worlds of high-performance luxury and a non-synthetic ingredient list Initially, it was important to me that the line was non-synthetic and all-natural."
The range is designed around a ‘no-makeup’ aesthetic with many of the products offering women the option to build colour or coverage intensity as they please without irritating the skin.
Each foundation, mascara, eye shadow, bronzer, highlighter, blush, and lipstick is made in Italy and comes in a slick, silver packaging that will look right at home in any woman’s beauty bag.

"It literally feels like skincare to wear our makeup because it allows your skin to breathe and lets your natural beauty come through. It never feels like wearing a mask. When you feel good, it empowers you," Weis told Forbes.
"Whether that’s the feeling of pulling something beautiful out of your bag or wearing something that feels wonderful on the skin."
