Meet Olivia Dean: The style-savvy newcomer making waves in music and fashion
Hers is the name on everyone's lips right now.
The vivacious Olivia Dean has experienced what can only be described as a meteoric rise from relative-unknown to industry standout in 2025.
She's the fresh face appearing everywhere this year; from gracing the stages of Glastonbury, to captivating Trans-Tasman audiences at St Jerome's Laneway Festival back in February.

But contrary to popular belief, 'newcomer' isn't the most accurate descriptor. Dean's latest offering, The Art of Loving, is actually her sophomore album, following on from her debut release Messy in 2023.
And would you believe us if we told you the single that kickstarted it all, OK Love you Bye – deceptively evergreen and current – was a pre-COVID offering circa 2019?
Cut from the very same 'Pop Girl Renaissance' cloth as the likes of Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and Brat-era Charli XCX, Dean's offerings are decidedly lower-frequency – although equally resonant in nature.
There's no denying the Man I Need hitmaker exudes a certain magnetism on stage – and an infectious effervescence off it – but it's not just her musical offerings making waves. As of late, her wardrobe is garnering attention in equal measure.

As equally colourful and varied as her discography; Dean has donned an extensive array of timeless pieces that shimmer, billow and wink with the singer's every stage-lit sashay.
So how has she managed to pull off her style evolution in tandem with that of her music in such spectacular – and effortless – fashion?
In short, the answer lies with stylist-to-watch Simone Beyene. Pulling looks from the likes of Gucci, David Koma and Maison Valentino, the match made in fashion heaven have worked together closely since 2021, painstakingly curating what has now evolved into the star's signature old-Hollywood (with an edge) aura.
So let's take a look at emerging fashion savant Olivia Dean's most recent ensembles; every feathered, fur-lined and frivolous one of them.

Dean flaunted flapper subculture with her most recent look, utterly iridescent as she descended upon the 2025 ARIA Awards in Sydney.
Supporting home-grown talent for the occasion, the star shimmered in the work of Australian designer Rachel Gilbert.

Dean emerged as an Autumnal-hued beauty in Burberry, clad in head-to-toe tartan for the titular British fashion house's stint at London Fashion Week in September.
Tailored to perfection, the ensemble was as equally feminine as it was well-fitting.
Miu Miu for Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025

Now officially a runway regular, Dean showed face front-row at Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025 for Paris Fashion Week last month.
The deliciously androgenous look (100 per cent Miu Miu, of course) was classic – with an elevated twist.
Stylist Simone Beyene deftly layered two shirts, a pleated skirt and leather tote personalised with Dean's own personal adornments.
Pointed pumps paired with a chic sock and a pearl necklace completed the look.

Perhaps one of her best looks to date – this monochromatic Alexandre Mattiussi ensemble is a fashion masterclass.
Contrasting textures make for a sumptuous, effortlessly layered look, and the implementation of this year's go-to red carpet fixture – the sheer skirt – does not go unnoticed.
Custom Chopova Lorena for Glastonbury Festival 2025

A fan favourite, Dean's daring Glastonbury getup had festival-goers in raptures. Dripping in custom Chopova Lorena, the star pivoted to punk with mixed-metals, tartan and vividly contrasting colours.
The cherry on top? The portrait of Dean's grandmother Carmen (which Dean's aptly-named single Carmen honours) beset front-and-centre in a bejewelled embroidered heart.

The duality of Dean was on full display at the 2024 Fashion Awards, cloaked in Emerald, feather-festooned Gucci.
A grand departure from some of her more playful looks, she oozed the charm and drama of old Hollywood in spades.
Custom Chanel for the 2025 ARIAs

Could the contentious bubble skirt be having a renaissance?
Decked out in custom Chanel for the ARIA's red carpet, Dean looked notably Magpie-esque for the biggest night in Australian music (though this was undoubtedly unintentional, the effect was luminous).
The beaded corset bodice exploded into a voluminous bubble skirt that allowed pointed mules to peak out. Yet another home run for the star and her stylist.
