Michelle Pfeiffer is launching a fragrance line
With her high cheekbones, almond-shaped eyes and creamy complexion, Michelle Pfeiffer has been one of Hollywood's classic beauty icons since the '80s.
Now, the actress, known for her roles in Dangerous Liaisons and Scarface, is coming for your beauty vanity, with the launch of her own fragrance line.
Named Henry Rose, a conjunction of the middle names of her two children, the range is the first fine fragrance line to be developed with the Environmental Working Group( a non-profit that advocates for safer consumer goods) making it a 100 percent clean perfume range.
The collection encompasses five unisex fragrances, that include aromas such as citrus, white neroli and patchouli, packaged in elegant bottles made from 90 percent recyclable glass with lids made of soy.
Priced at $168 a bottle, Henry Rose enters the fragrance space as a direct competitor to brands like Tom Ford, Byredo and Jo Malone.
Getting the brand to fruition was no easy task for the Catwoman star.
She struggled to find cosmetic companies that would be completely honest about the ingredients found in their products.
"People literally told me, 'You're going to fail,'" she told Forbes.
"I kept hitting dead ends because no one was willing to be transparent with ingredients and I wasn't willing to put my name and face on something that I wouldn’t use."
The 60-year-old's interest in clean beauty started in the early '90s with the birth of her children.
"I began to take a closer look at the products I was exposing my kids to," Pfeiffer told Vogue.
"And around the same time, my father and my best friend were diagnosed with cancer. So, it was a real wake up call for me, and dramatically changed my view of health."
