1988
Oh, the '80s.
In 1986, Smart landed her breakout role on the series, Designing Women.
Her fashion on the show was quintessential for the decade with fluffy hair, shoulder pads and the occasional pearl.

1990
Now, let's take a trip to the early '90s.
Hot off a decade where the hair was bigger and the colours were brighter, Smart kept onto the '80s style for her outfit choice at the 1990 Primetime Emmy Awards.
The star walked the red carpet with her hair styled in curls and wearing a bright pink bubble-esque skirt that caught all the attention.
She's since been a staple on many Emmy red carpets over the years.
1992
A mini dress went a long way in the '90s.
With her curls still holding strong from the '80s, Smart wore this stylish floral jacket for a date night out in West Hollywood.

In 2007, Smart was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries, or Motion Picture Made for Television Golden Globe for her performance in 24.
For her first Golden Globe nomination of her career, the actress dressed put a suited spin on a little black dress.
2008
For the Primetime Emmy Awards the next year, Smart once again went the little black dress route – this time with her hair styled back in a back rather than her iconic curls.
2015
In 2015, Smart landed another successful TV role, joining the series Fargo for its second season.
