A fashion "expert" has offered insight into what each wedding dress code means – breaking down what you would be expected to wear to each.
In a video posted to TikTok, Kristina Kacheeva debunks a variety of different dress codes alongside examples of outfits she would wear.

Black Tie
Kacheeva says that a formal, floor length gown is the most appropriate attire for a wedding with a black tie dress code.
The "expert" provided an example of what she would wear – sporting a metallic gown with a full length skirt.
Her dress of choice has a small slit up the leg and a flattering cowl neckline.

Cocktail
When it comes to Cocktail attire, Kacheeva says that you can play around with the hemline – advising followers to opt for something above the knee or longer.
In the clip, she sports a show stopping bright green dress with a plunging neck line and a slit.
The gown is slightly shorter in the length, compared to her black tie dress, and finishes at around her ankles.

Casual
For casual dressing, Kacheeva prompts followers to have fun with colours and patterns.
In the video, she opts for a more casual, floral maxi dress which she pairs with white heels and a white bag.

Destination Wedding
For Kacheeva, destination weddings are an opportunity to get creative with colour and length.
In her example, she dons a metallic blue dress which she accessorises with a blue bag and heels.
She says you can decide between short or ankle-length dresses and advises followers to choose garments that are bright in colour or have patterns.
