Buy Kate Middleton’s wedding dress for $325

Brooke Campbell

If you think looking as royal at the Duchess of Cambridge on your wedding day is out of the question, you can think again.

The whole world stopped and paid attention when Kate Middleton walked down the aisle in a custom Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown to marry Prince William. While the hefty $563,266 price tag is out of most people’s budget, H&M have offered a replica which you just may be able to afford.

The H&M version features the same sweetheart neckline, delicate lace overlay and bodice, full skirt and lace sleeves as the gown that caught the world's attention seven years ago.

And the best bit? The $325 price tag makes is a dress that will be well and truly be within your budget.

The only noticeable difference is the absence of the Duchess’s 2.7m train, which was famously carried by her sister and maid of honour, Pippa Middleton.

If you’re more of a ‘Pippa’ than a ‘Kate’ you're in luck. The collection feautures a wedding dress that bares a striking resemblance to the one Middleton wore to wed hedge fund manager James Matthews in May, 2017.

While the sleeves are a little shorter and the H&M version features a more fitted silhouette, there is no doubt the gown has been modelled on the Giles Deacon gown Middleton walked down the aisle in. And instead of forking out a whopping $73,000, this one will set you back $324.

It was just last week the fast fashion retailer announced they’re expanding their offering to include a range of wedding dresses, none of which are over $325.

In addition to gowns for the bride, the new line also includes bridesmaid dresses, shoes and accessories like flower crowns and nail polishes.

While the bridal line is not yet available in Australia, we’re hoping the High Street favourite won’t make us wait too long before we, too, can nab a bridal bargain.
