Chanel's sexy new campaign

There's nothing quite like Chanel N°5. And there likely never will be. After all, this is a scent that has reached legendary status like none before - or since. It's the fragrance Marilyn Monroe cited as the only thing she wore to bed. The fragrance girls aspire to, the fragrance powerful women wear.

And now it has a whole new freshness to it.

“Its freshness is essential, which is why we named it N°5 L’eau,” explains Olivier Polge, who was responsible for the reinvention of N°5.

Olivier reworked the scent with evanescent citrus aldehyde top notes, a floral heart of greener jasmine and ylang-ylang swirled into rose, ending on more nervous cedar and vetiver woody notes.

In doing so he has brought a sparkling new facet to a classic

We’re adding a new chapter to the legend, says Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, Head of Global Creative Resources for Chanel fragrance and beauty.

"But that doesn’t mean we are forgetting what came before. On the contrary, it means that Chanel N°5 is alive, evolving, and reinventing itself, and thus more surprising than we can imagine.”

Lily-Rose Depp is perfect as the face of this modern take on a scent that will last forever. Sexy, complex and multi-faceted - just like the fragrance itself.
