Catherine McNeil returns to the runway

Since bursting onto the fashion world in the pages of French Vogue in 2007, Australia’s most beautiful modelling export Catherine McNeil has been a figure of controversy but on the runway for Balmain and Lanvin her money-making looks showed that she could care less.

Recently the openly bisexual, former fiancée of Orange is the New Black star Ruby Rose, was the target of concerns about her thin frame flaunted on Instagram posts in topless pictures.

The comments section has become a Cat fight between supporters of the model, body bullies and concerned fans.

In the Isabel Marant show McNeil, 27, appeared on the runway with supermodels Gigi Hadid, Doutzen Kroes and Edie Campbell wearing pieces that played on volume and print. McNeil’s professional demeanour failed to betray any hint of the social media drama.

Meanwhile Marant’s collection of cinched quilted coats and floral dresses with pouf sleeves that rivalled Princess Diana’s wedding dress will be a tough call outside of the ready-to-wear collections but will appeal to the French cool girl crowd who worship Marant’s sneakered feet.

Black boiler jumpsuits and metallic dresses with extravagant ruffles are an easier ask for those still in search of that je ne sais pa.
